Dramatic reno on two floors

David Gladwin’s clients first asked for a new basement. Now it features a home theatre area, a games area with a natural gas fireplace, a bar area, a fitness studio, and a small powder room. A dramatic red wall provides sensational contrast with the fireplace.

You can see the beautiful results with your own eyes at Reno Tour, Oct. 15, from 10 am to 4 pm.

The third annual Reno Tour, hosted by the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association Renovators’ Council and the Ottawa RenoMark® program, is a true insider’s view of the results of beautiful award-winning renovations.

This year, seven renovators and homeowners have agreed to open their doors to the public in order to show you their stunning projects. Proceeds from sales of tickets go to Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa.

The Gladwin Building Services clients also wanted their 20-year-old ensuite bathroom updated, so Gladwin gave it a complete overhaul. It now includes a steam shower (with a steam generator and access panel hiding under the tub deck). A custom glass shower enclosure goes all the way up to the ceiling in order to keep the steam in, and a ventilation system removes the moisture from the room afterwards. There is also a therapeutic bathtub that uses a hidden, quiet, air blower to create the bubbles. The tub deck flows into the shower, creating a bench.

Someone will be on hand at Reno Tour to explain the details of this renovation and others.
